Changes to the view in myStudentSystem
In February, students will see a new and improved look while navigating their Student Centre which will be referred to as myStudentSystem. Present functionality will be maintained, but the change will provide a more intuitive experience allowing students to navigate the system regardless of the device they use.
Schedule planner
MacEwan’s new schedule planner is a tool to assist students in planning their class schedules. It allows students to map potential schedule options based on the classes in which they intend to enrol. It offers options to block off periods of time and indicate preferred class times combined with enhanced search functionality for courses.
The schedule planner tool will not allow students to register in classes but replaces the paper-and-pen process students currently have to do to organize their schedule. Also, there is no built-in prerequisite checker so students should be diligent in ensuring they’re not including courses for which they haven’t met the prerequisites while planning potential schedules.

In the coming months we’ll be providing more information about several other projects, including the new electronic document management system (which will allow students to upload their own documents), academic advisement tools coming on-line for current students, and enhancements to our auto-evaluation process for admissions. Where possible, we will provide screenshots and walkthroughs so you can continue to effectively assist your students.
